Simple Pleasures

Simple Pleasures

Shelling my current harvest of 12 pea pods on my front porch, while thunder rumbles and lightning flashes far in the distance.

Sitting on my deck drinking a Blue Moon while listening to music and reading a good book. Life is good on the east coast as well. xo

    Hi Jen,

I did get your last email even though the other went into the ethernet. I think I have figured out how to “reply above this line”….:) Definitely on a need to know basis with technology, and am, of course, totally impressed by your blogging skills.

We have been blissfully relaxing–swimming, reading, eating fish and fruit, and enjoying talking to no one, especially about construction projects. We did have a tropical storm for excitement, and in the murky water immediately following there was a shark alert on the beaches. However, after a couple of days the water cleared and the dolphins returned, signaling the end of shark week. Back to PV tomorrow with a list of things to do, but we are definitely closer to moving in–still December 6, or so they say.

Every now and then I get a little overwhelmed about the prospect trying to find some personal touches to decorate a new house. Ours were collected over many years travel, and some came from family. I guess we will just have to go on more trips 🙂 The good news, of course, is that we will finally have a house to move into! Hopefully your painting has gone smoothly, and you can begin to feel the house is yours again.

We loved your account of hawk fishing in Oregon. Ross got quite a chuckle out of it, and I know you both loved spending the time with dear friends. Some of our friends are going to the Willamette Valley soon; do you have a favorite vineyard for wine tasting? Also impressed that you already have a crop from your garden.

School started in Maui on Monday, and coincidentally we ran into Leyla Gonzalea in the Maui Costco. Hard to believe her daughter is two! She mentioned she was going to be back at work late this week. Does it seem strange not to be in your class getting ready for school? At least you are not scheduled to take the anti-bullying courses……. Are they for the whole district, or just for Duveneck? In any case, it is nice for you to have a break from all of that. I am sure what you devise for your art/writing will be a rewarding challenge for you, and will help clarify your next direction.

    Love to you both,

    Nancy
